Located in beautiful Kelowna, BC. I am the owner and permanent makeup artist at Birds of Prey Cosmetics. At Birds of Prey Cosmetics we offer permanent makeup such as Microblading, Combination brows and other popular beauty services designed to enhance your unique, natural self. We believe permanent makeup should be soft, natural and undetectable, with the ability to fade and age gracefully.

Booking

To secure your appointment, a non-refundable deposit is required upon booking your service. The remaining balance will be due at the time of your appointment.

Once the service is completed, no refunds will be issued.

Microblading, Fusion/Combination, or Powder Brows services are exclusively available for individuals aged 18 and above. No exceptions will be made.

When requesting a touch-up for work done by another artist, the full rate for new clients will apply. In cases where the previous work is overly saturated, a referral to a laser specialist may be suggested to achieve the best possible results.

Cancellations, Late Arrivals and No-Shows
1. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, a minimum notice of 48 hours is required. If you choose to reschedule, your deposit will be retained and applied to your new appointment slot. Failing to provide at least 48 hours' notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
2. In the event of a missed appointment without prior notification, your deposit will be forfeited.
3. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late for your appointment, it will be necessary to reschedule due to my tightly scheduled bookings. Your deposit will be held and applied to your subsequent appointment.
Appointments
1. My private studio is situated within TWP Fitness (109-1851 Kirschner Road. This is what you will type into Google Maps) To access my room, enter the building, simply proceed up the stairs at the back, take a right turn, and you'll find my studio as the first door on your right. The front desk team will be more than happy to guide you as well.
2. Your appointment will commence with a comprehensive consultation, followed by photos and videos, Subsequently, we will work on your personalized brow design, taking into consideration factors like face shape, symmetry, and what would be most flattering. From there, I will meticulously craft the brows you've always desired!
Photography
1. To fulfill insurance requirements and maintain client portfolios, we will capture before and after photos during your appointment.
2. With your consent, these photos may also be utilized for promotional purposes on social media and my website.
3. Please be aware that you retain the right to decline the usage of your photos on any social media platforms if you wish to do so.

Be Prepared
Here are the guidelines to ensure the best results for your appointment:

Refrain from exercising within 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Shield your face from the sun and tanning booths for at least 1 week before the session.

If you've had Botox or any chemical facial treatments, wait at least 3 weeks before coming in for microblading, combo/powder brows.

Permanent makeup is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Let your brows grow naturally; I will shape them during your appointment.

For the best healing and color retention:

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the procedure.

Steer clear of caffeine on the day of your session.
-
Do not take blood-thinning medications like Aspirin and Ibuprofen.

Stop using anti-aging/retinol creams at least 2 weeks prior to your permanent brow appointment.

Ensure your skin is well-moisturized and your brows are exfoliated to remove any dead skin cells before your appointment. The condition of your skin significantly impacts healing and the lasting effects.
After Care
Here are the healing instructions for a 6-8 week period:

First 24 hours: Keep your brows dry. Gently blot them with a cotton round every hour to remove any perspiration.

Next 7 days: Wash your brows twice a day, in the morning and at night, using lukewarm water and unscented soaps like Cetaphil or CeraVe. Allow them to air dry or pat them dry gently. Afterward, apply a pea-sized amount of the provided aftercare ointment to each brow. Apart from washing, keep your brows dry and away from dirt and debris.

Additional ointment: Apply a small amount of ointment throughout the day only if your brows feel very tight, dry, or itchy. Avoid excessive application, as it can lead to pigment loss.

Water submersion: Refrain from submerging your brows in water. This includes avoiding showering, excessive sweating, saunas, and swimming, as these activities can result in poor pigment retention.

Sun protection: Protect your brows from the sun's rays, including indoor tanning, at all times. UVA/UVB rays can cause your brows to fade prematurely. Remember to use SPF daily.

Flaking and itching: Do not pick or scratch your brows when they start to flake or itch. This could lead to scarring and compromised pigment retention.

Clean hands: Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your brows.

Avoid anti-aging products: Refrain from using anti-aging serums like Retinols, Retin-A, and acids on your forehead, as these can contribute to premature fading.

Ointment usage: Only use the ointment provided by the artist. Apply it sparingly when your brows are very dry or tight. If you have oily skin, you might not need to use ointment at all.
By following these instructions, you'll ensure proper healing and prolonged color retention for your brows.
What to expect
Following your initial session, your brows remain a work in progress and will necessitate a follow-up appointment to refine their shape, enhance color, and achieve desired density.
Post-appointment, it's common for your brows to feel tender, akin to a sunburn. Experiencing itching and flaking throughout the healing process is also a normal occurrence.
During the initial healing phase, typically days 1-3, your brows will appear at their darkest. Throughout this active healing period, the color may shift, fade, and then reappear. Once fully healed, expect your brows to be 40%-50% lighter than immediately after your session.
